Healthy eating has always been a way of life for me. I have experimented with various diets and have come to the conclusion that whole, natural, and unprocessed food makes the best sense . It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I realized a gluten free diet was the only missing component to my life style, . In 2007, while training for an Ironman, I was experimenting in my kitchen determined to create gluten free, nutritious, and delicious snacks to keep up with the demands of training. Several friends and athletes convinced me to market my homemade nutrition bars and Jungle Treats was born! Several months later, I was eating my baked crispy kale out of the oven when I thought that it would be better to dehydrate them and keep the kale raw for added nutrition. Well, it worked so well that I created a few flavors and put the nutrition bars on hold while I pursued packaging and marketing Kale Krisps. So there you are. The story of an acupuncturist, in her 40's, starting a new business born from her passion for healthy cooking.
